Jessica shouldn’t be a repeat battle that will drain your resources (since they are random to find anyway, rather than a guaranteed drop – which would at least make some of the grinding easier) She should just see you have food see the fact you’re wielding magic, and ask to come with you. It should be powerful enough from the jump to do what you need it to in battle. Having more exp cost to raise a spell’s level is NOT a good idea. I do agree with the posters that say it’s WAY too grind heavy) Half of the spells I never bothered even trying to level up because I couldn’t tell if they would be helpful or not. I will also say grinding with the women who are LITERALLY dependant on MC for both their protection and food source should NEVER for any reason get to be mouthy, or deny the MC some sort of sexual reward (We don’t download these games to play minecraft. The challenge is survival while the world is sliding to hell and whether the MC CAN fix it at the end. The aunt who’s the big bad, didn’t need to be there. He is the hero, and while you can make the “demons” physically stronger as fair game, the balancing for the spells was all over the bloody place. The spells SHOULD be balanced in the MC’s favor. Framing the end of the world aspect around his scitzophrenia might seem clever, but it will turn a fair chunk of the audience off right out of the gate. Or has those kinds of issues to deal with. You tread on WAY too many real life issues when you try to introduce a character as the protagonist who may not even debatably be sane. You’re making the audience of an already niche genre of games, all the more niche by focusing on such realism. For the same reason anything involving addictions is. First I will say that from the first time I downloaded the original game, the mental illness spin was a very hard sell.
